Mr. and Mrs. William Kiewel received word of the death of their daughter Mrs. Kenneth Twedt on Saturday, June 17 at a hospital in Portland, Oregon.

Funeral services and burial were held there Wednesday morning.

The former Lajla Jean Kiewel was born November 19,1928 in Union County, S.D. and was baptized In Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron. In 1935, the family moved to Sioux Falls. She became a member of Augustana Lutheran Church and graduated with honors from Washington High School in 1945. On December 19,1946 she was married to Kenneth Twedt in Sioux Falls. They celebrated their 25th anniversary last December. She worked as a legal secretary while in Sioux Falls and after moving to Portland.

She is survived by her husband, a son, Tom in Naval Air Force at Whidby Island, Washington, two grandsons, the parents, two sisters, Mrs. Le Roy Krambeck (Kathryn), Sioux Falls, S.D., Mrs. Ray White (Betty), Portland, Oregon, five brothers, Ed of Akron, James of Belle Fourche, S.D., Roy of Salem, Oregon, Lawrence of Alcester and Robert of Belle Plaine, Minn., a brother, Douglas was lost in World War II.
