ELSIE CASPER
Elsie Casper, 99, of LeMars, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 1992, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars after a brief illness.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton, Lincoln Township, with Rev. Dr. Michael Boykin officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery. Visitation was at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home, LeMars.
Mrs. Casper was born Sept. 25, 1893, in Lincoln Township, rural Hinton, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Beck) Ideker. She married George A. Casper May 4, 1915, at Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband at rural Hinton, retiring in 1943. Mr. Casper died Jan. 25, 1979. She moved to LeMars in 1980 and had been a resident of Plymouth Manor Care Center in LeMars for the last two years. She was an avid quilter.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid.
Survivors include two daughters, Edna Kounkel and her husband, Elden of LeMars and Marjorie Ladenthin of Kingsley; a daughter-in-law, Florence Schroeder and her husband Ray of Remsen; two sisters, Clara Greenwaldt and her husband Herb of LeMars and Helen Robinson, of Lawton; a brother, Albert Ideker and his wife Alma, of Minnesota; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Lloyd, in 1970; four brothers, Elmer, Arthur, Walter and Louie; and a grandson, Randy Ladenthin.
