Emil C. Heckt, age 95, of Akron, Iowa, former widely known and long time Rock County, Minnesota merchant, passed away Sunday, November 7th.

Mr. Heckt was born April 16, 1876 at Laboe, Germany, coming to this country at the age of 4 years with his parents, who located in Iowa. He married Anna C. Willer of Akron in 1898 in Le Mars, Iowa. Mrs. Heckt died in 1964. He has one daughter, Dallas, at home and a sister, Mrs. John Rohlck of Luverne, Minn.

Mr. Heckt owned and operated a General Merchandise business at Hardwick, Minn. from 1900 to 1950, when he retired to Akron. He was a long time member of the Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 10, at the Schroeder Funeral Home. Tile Rev. James Offrink officiated and interment was in Riverside Cemetery. Casket bearers were John, Clint and Gust Hemme and Julius, Ed and Donald Wilier.
