MRS. VERA JAOOBSON
Mrs. Vera Jacobson departed this life last Saturday evening, September 21, 1968, in the hospital in Gardena, Calif., following a heart attack. She had been ill for Some years. She was 80 years, 3 months and 5 days of age.
Vera Mae Ross was born near Akron, Iowa, June 16,1888. She was the daughter of-Walter and Myrtle Ross. She grew up in this community. She was united in marriage to George Billings. They lived near Adaville and also at Akron. Later she was married to Elmer Jacobson. They lived at Richland, S. Dak. where he had a filling Station. During the years of 1942 to 1951 she lived alternately both in California and in Akron. From 1948 to 1951 she cared for her mother in Akron who was seriously ill. Her mother died in 1951. Then she moved to Gardena, Calif., and lived there until the time of her death. Mr. Jacobson died in 1954. Mrs. Jacobson will certainly be remembered for her concern and love of others. This was markedly true regarding her children and her mother.
Among those who survive to mourn her departure are: her five daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Trudeou of El Monte, Calif., Mrs. Evelyn Smith of Maywood, Calif., Mrs. Inez Gray of Los Angeles, Mrs. Darlene Conti of Gardena, California and Mrs. Delores Phillips of Los Angeles; her Hour sons, John Billings, of Gardena, Jay Billings of Los Angeles; Robert Jacot of El Monte, Calif., and Darrel Jacobson of Akron; her four brothers, Guy Ross of Westfield, IA., L. D. Ross and Earl Ross of Akron, and Theodore Ross of Ontario, Calif.; her 31 grandchildren; her 44 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
