William Lorensen, 76, formerly of Akron, died last Wednesday near Springfield, HI.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Schroeder Funeral Home, Akron, with Rev. David Roy officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery, Akron. Pall bearers were: Harvey Peters, Orville Lorensen, Arvin Finzen, Darrell Peters, Larry Lorensen and Leslie Lorensen.

Mr. Lorensen was born May 29, 1894 at Akron, Iowa. He married Mamie Peters June 26,1918, in Le Mars. They farmed in the Akron area until their retirement to Akron. The couple moved to a nursing home near Springfield in January 1970. Mrs. Lorensen died in October 1970. He was a veteran of world war I.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Opal Riemer of Petersburg, Ill., and Mrs. Wilma Collasure of Springfield, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
