Nelson Beaubien, 78, who had been town clerk of Westfield, Iowa, 35 years, died Friday, December 4 at the hospital in Akron after a long illness.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church. The Rev. Stanley R. Stone officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery in Akron under the direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home. The Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home.
Mr. Beaubien was born June 25,1892, east of Westfield. He married Rose Doyle June 16, 1915, at Westfield. He was a grain buyer in the Westfield area for 50 years. He also served on the Westfield Town Council for a number of years.
Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Elias Coury of Omaha; four brothers, Phillip Sr. of Westfield, William of Santa Maria, Calif., Armand of Chelas, Okla., and Lawrence of Tulsa, Okla.;two sisters, Mrs. George Rowe of Sioux City, and Mrs. James Mann of Seattle; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
