AKRON RESIDENT CALLED BY DEATH LAST SUNDAY
Last Rites Are Held On Wednesday For T. S. Leekley.
T. S. Leekley, 65, of this city, passed away Sunday, November 7, in the Lutheran Hospital, Sioux City, following a brief illness.
Theron S. Leekley was born May 4, 1900, at Armour, S. D. He married Dena Vogt, June 8, 1828 at Gregory, S. D., where they lived until 1334. They then moved to Westfield, Iowa, vicinity, where they farmed until retiring and moving to Akron this spring.
Survivors include the widow; two sons, Dale of Washta, Iowa, and Edmunnd of Westfield; four daughters, Misses Thea, Mary and Leola, all of Akron, and Ethel Leekley of Hawarden, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Rykes of Vermillion, S. D., and Mrs. Pansy Turner of Deerwood, Minn., and 12 grandchildren. Sympathy is extended the relatives in their bereavement.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in Wesley Methodist Church, Rev. Donald Roberts officiating. Richard Smith was vocalist and Mrs. Orin Harris was organist.
Casket bearers were: Belmer Banks, Harry Kroll, Arden Banks, Lee Macklem, Roy. Postlewait and Wade Mann. Honorary bearers were: Bill Cowell, Larry Kelling, Fred Stotz, Guy Ross, Berdett Davis and Howard Pike.
Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
