Leonard Ludwig, 77, of Le Mars, lifelong Plymouth County resident and county auditor for 27 years, died Thursday morning at Floyd Valley Hospital. He had been ill for about six months.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 20, at 1 p.m. at St. John American Lutheran church with Rev. Paul Tobiason and Rev. Arnold Imbrock officiating. Burial was in Graceland Park Cemetery, Sioux City.

He was born August 23,1892, in Hungerford Township, a son of the late Fritz and Anna (Junck) Ludwig. He married Selma Sandven June 10, 1933, at Omaha. He was a bookkeeper at the Farmers Elevator from 1923 to 1960. He had lived in Le Mars since 1933. He was a member of St. John American Lutheran Church.

Survivors are his wife, Selma of Le Mars; two brothers , Henry of Sioux City and Herbert of Le Mars; and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Bradstreet of Sioux City and Mrs. Walter (Clara) Muecke of Hinton.
