Funeral services were held for Mr. Allen Sturtevant , age 58, of Jefferson S.D., on Monday, April 6, at the Anderson Funeral home in Sioux City, the Rev. Jack R. Hooten, pastor of the Trim United Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Leo Loftus, Ted Port, Frank Reuschling, Herb Langley, Frank Vondrak and Lester Williams.

Mr. Sturtevant died last Thursday after an illness of one month.

Jay A. Sturtevant was born May 22,1911, in Sioux City. He married Sylvia Donnell April 16, 1938. The couple farmed in Plymouth County for 32 years. He was a member of Eagles Lodge and formerly of the National Guard.

Survivors include the widow, a daughter Mrs. Gladys Martin of Tyler, Texas; son, Darwin of Sioux City; two sisters three brothers; a step-brother; and two grandchildren .

Jay Allen Sturtevant, 58, of Jefferson, S.D., died Thursday morning, April 2, at a Sioux City hospital after an illness of one month.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Sioux City Anderson Funeral Home. Rev. Jack R. Hooten, pastor of Trimble United Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of the Anderson Funeral Home, Sioux City.

He was born May 22, 1911, in Sioux City. He married Sylvia Donnell April 16, 1938. The couple farmed in Plymouth County for 32 years. He was a member of Eagles lodge, Aerie 77, and formerly of the National Guard.

Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Martin of Tyler, Tex.; a son, Darwin of Sioux City; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Neland of Marion, and Mrs. Carlotte Collins of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three brothers, Ralph of Manitoba, Canada, Lyle of Elma, Wash., and Lewis of Denison; a stepbrother, Charles Gripe of Stockton, Calif. and two grandchildren.

The body was taken to the Anderson Funeral Home.
