Remsen Man Dies While Driving Car to Kingsley.
William G. Erichsen, 78, longtime Remsen areas resident died unexpectedly Monday morning, September 23, 1957 after suffering a heart attack while driving his car to Kingsley. The car left highway 140 at the east edge of Kingsley, traveled about 90 feet and struck a tree in the west ditch. County coroner S. H. Luken attributed death to the heart attack as the man sustained no injuries in the crash. Mr. Erichsen had left his farm in Henry township shortly after before 9 a.m. to order some lumber and pick up groceries in Kingsley.
Mr. Erichsen moved to the Remsen with his parents at the age of six, and had lived there since that time. He and his wife, Margaret, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary here, October
1, 1954. Survivors include the widow and a son, Henry of Remsen. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church at Remsen. Burial was in the community cemetery there. - LeMars Sentinel, Thursday, September 26, 1957Also –
