John Klaschen, 88, of Piersen, died Monday (May 3, 1982), in a Sioux City hospital. Services will be at 10 A.M. Thursday in the First Lutheran Church in Kingsley. Rev. Walter Resner will officiate. Burial will be in the Remsen City Cemetery under the direction of the Moeller Funeral Home in Remsen. Visitation at the funeral home will be after 3 P.M. Wednesday.

Mr. Klaschen was born June 1, 1893 in Eckernfoerde, Germany to John P. and Katrina Harrison Klaschen. He came to the United States and to Remsen in 1909.
He married Martha Dierkson, September 12, 1917 in Remsen. They farmed in Remsen and South Dakota and moved to Kingsley in 1965. They moved to Pierson one year ago.

Survivors are his wife; three sons, Walter of Marcus, Donald of Pierson and Keith of
Quimby; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Delmar in 1957; four brothers and two sisters. - Le Mars Daily Sentinel, Wednesday, May 5, 1982
