Mourn Death of Girl
For the second time within a year death entered the home of Carl Klaschen, well known farmer south of Remsen, when last Saturday, March 11, LaVana Klaschen passed away after a brief illness. She was eight years old.LaVana Alma Margaret Klaschen was born on August 6, 1924. She attended the rural schools and was a general favorite among teachers and classmates. The girl's mother Margaret died December 26, 1928, and a brother followed her to the grave in July of last year. Surviving are her father, her brother Earl, aged 11, and her sister Wilma, age 6 years.
The funeral was held Monday afternoon conducted by the Rev. Paul Wuebben, Jr. of St. Paul Church. Interment was made in the Remsen cemetery. – The Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Tuesday, March 21, 1933, page 2.Also –
The seven year old daughter of Carl Klachen, died at their farm home Saturday. The child had been suffering from heart trouble. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at St. Paul’s Lutheran church. Rev. Wuebben conducted the services. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, March 17, 1933, page 2.
