Edward Friedrich, 82, a lifelong resident of Preston township, route 3, Akron, died Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Akron Community hospital after an illness of several years. He had been hospitalized since Nov. 8, 1969, suffering from a broken hip.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran church, Preston township, with Rev. James Sandvik officiating. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran cemetery, Preston township, rural Akron, under direction of the Mauer funeral home, Le Mars.

He was born May 2, 1887, in Preston township, rural Akron, a son of the late John G. and Anna (Riegert) Friedrichs. He was a retired farmer.

He was a member of St. John Lutheran church, Preston township.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Frank and John.

Survivors are two brothers, Herman and Henry, both of rural Akron and two nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 3, for Edward Friedrich, age 82, Rev. James Sandvik officiated. Mr. Friedrich died February 28 at the Akron Hospital.

He was born May 2, 1887, in Preston Township whore he farmed his entire life.

Survivors are his brothers Herman and Henry, both of Preston Township.
