HERMAN EGGEBRECHT OF CRAIG DIES AT HAWARDEN HOSPITAL

Herman Eggebrecht, 81, Craig retired farmer, died Thursday at the Hawarden hospital after several years of illness. He had been hospitalized six days.

Born Jan. 25, 1879, in Gamgo. Germany, he was a son of the late Friedrich and Marie Ladwig Eggebrecht. He came to this country at the age of 14 and had resided in the Craig vicinity since. Mr. Eggebrecht was a charter member of St. John Lutheran Church at Craig.

His marriage -to Minnie Ladwig took place Oct. 15, 1902, in Sioux County. She preceded him in death, as did a son, Harold, five sisters and a brother.

Surviving are two sons, Herman C. Jr. of Alton and Ervin, a, resident of the Plymouth County home here; four daughters, Mrs. Clara Hutton and Mrs. Ernest (Edna) Schuette, both of Craig, Mrs. Fred (Grace) Ludwigs of rural Le Mars and Mrs. William (Mildred) Beeck of Reading, Minn.; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church, Craig, with Rev. Ervin Schemmel officiating. Burial will be in the Craig Cemetery under the direction of Mauer's funeral home. The body will be taken to the church Saturday noon.
