Vivian Alta Wuebben, 90, died Thursday, December 26, 1996, at Happy Siesta Nursing Home in Remsen after a short illness.
The former Vivian Recknagel was born January 14, 1907 to Leonard and Emma (Feurbach) Recknagel in Remsen where she lived her entire life. She graduated from Remsen Public High School and attended Western Union College in Le Mars. She was a bookkeeper for the Milf Griepenburg Insurance Agency and was Secretary –Treasurer of St. Paul Lutheran Sunday School for many years. She also was a lifetime member of Martha’s Circle at St. Paul’s and assisted with funeral arrangements at the church. Mrs. Wuebben loved to bowl and play cards.
She and Reverend Paul Wuebben were married by her father-in-law, Reverend Paul Wuebben, Sr. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rmesen, when it was officially incorporated. One of her most cherished possessions was a book written by her son, Dr. Paul Lane Wuebben.
She is survived by many caring friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her husband on October 6, 1996; a son, Dr. Paul Lane Wuebben; two brothers Orville and Vernon REcknagel; and a sister, Lois Wixson.
Note: Pallbearers were Dr. Dale Drum, Dave Vander Ham, Dale Hansen, Wendell Riedemann, Donell Engelbrecht and Donald Hansen. Burial was in the Remsen City Cemetery. Funeral conducted by Alfred F. Moeller,Jr. , Clergyman Officiating was Rev. Craig Miller. Funeral was Monday, December 30, 1996 – Funeral bulletin.
