Lillian Johnson, 91, of Wentworth, S.D., a Le Mars native, died Monday (July 5, 1962) in a nursing home in Flandreau, S.D.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Skroch funeral home in Flandreau. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in the Remsen cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson, the former Lillian Ebrecht, was born Jan. 12, 1891, at Le Mars and received her education here.
She married Harm Johnson Feb. 23, 1912, at Pipestone, Minn. They lived in Remsen until 1937 when they moved to Wentworth where they operated the Smith Park resort.
After his death in January of 1962, she made her home between Wentworth and Sioux City. She entered Riverview manor in June of 1979.
Survivors are one son, Frank of Wentworth; one daughter, Mrs. Ray (Etta) Simeon of Sioux City; two brothers, August of Sioux City and Frank of Colorado; three sisters, Mrs. Rose English of Desert Springs, Calif., Mrs. Frieda Langdon of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Lena Armstrong of Appleton, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, July 7, 1982, page 10.
