Donald Leroy Petersen, the son of Peter and Alma Soe Petersen, was born April 6, 1926, near Marcus, Iowa. He received his education in country schools around Marcus.
Donald was baptized and confirmed at the Nazareth Lutheran Church of Marcus, Iowa. He farmed his entire life. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal, Iowa.
On Tuesday, September 5, 2000, Donald passed away at the Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Harold.
Mr. Petersen is survived by his brother, Paul, of Rural Sutherland, Iowa; and a number of cousins. – funeral bulletin
Note: Donald is buried in the Remsen City Cemetery near his parents.
