DEATH OF WILLIAM BODEN

Was a Well Known Plymouth County Resident

Akron Register Tribune:
William Boden, a former resident of Akron vicinity, passed away at his home near Tyndall, S.D. on Thursday night Sept. 17, 1914, after a few days illness. He had been in poor health for several months, but his condition was not considered critical and his death came as a grievous shock to the relatives.

Mr. Boden was born near Garanvillo, Clayton County, Iowa in July 1867, and moved to Akron with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Boden, when he was ten years of age, and lived in this vicinity until five years ago when he moved on a farm near Tyndall, S.D. Before moving to Tyndall he was engaged in the livery business in Westfield.

In January 1893, he married Rose Smith. The wife and six children, Joseph, Evelyn, Herbert,Jessie, Daisy, and Leone, mourn the loss of their husband and father. He also leaves two brothers, Andy of Akron, and James of Oakland, Cal., also four sisters, Mrs. James [Anna] Conway of California, Mrs. Alice Burnight, of LeMars, Mrs. T. F. [Mary] Clarey, and Mrs. William [Stella] Buryanek, of Akron.

His remains were brought to Akron Saturday accompanied by his family and other relatives. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. K. Hurley in St. Patrick’s Church at 10:15 o’clock Sunday morning. Interment was made beside his parents in the Catholic Cemetery here.

The love and esteem in which Mr. Boden was held was evidenced by the beautiful floral tributes and by the large gathering of old neighbors and friends at the funeral services. Among those attending the services were members of the Knight of Columbus from Tyndall, Yankton, and Elk Point.
