Mrs. Anna Boehmke passed away last Saturday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Eichhorn, in Remsen, at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 28 days. A complication of ailments due to old age is given as the cause of death. Mrs. Beohmke had made her home here with her daughter since the death of Mr. Boehmke which occurred sixteen months ago. Deceased was born in Germany in 1848. At the age of 21 she came to America with her parents and settled in Benton county, Iowa. At the age of 24 she was united in marriage with Emil Booehmke and lived in Benton county for twelve years longer when they removed to Plymouth county where they lived for many years. The last thirty years were spent in Remsen and Sioux Falls, S.D. Ten children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Boehmke, two of whom preceded them in death. Those left to mourn the loss of their mother are August Boehmke, Holland Minn., Gus Boehmke, Pipestone, Minn., Mrs. Alwine Jacobsen, Sioux Falls, S.D., Julius Boehmke, Inwood, Iowa, Peter Boehmke, Sioux Falls, S.D., Emmily Banner [Bammer], Estherville, Iowa, Annabelle Jurgenson, Vermillion, S.D. and Marie Eichhorn, Remsen. There are twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at St. Paul’s church in Remsen, Rev. Hugo Watchelt having charge of the service, and interment was made in the city. The pall bearers were Gustave Hanno, Henry Falke, F.E. Wentz, Ed.
