Mrs. Antje Jaacks, wife of the late Otto Jaacks, of Remsen died at her home on south Main street early Tuesday morning at the age of 84 years. Antje Elizabeth Jaacks, nee Stange, was born in the village of Sublin, Schleswig Holstein, Germany, on November 24, 1834, and came to this country in 1865, settling in Davenport, Iowa. In that city she was married to Otto Jaacks in 1867. The couple moved to Wheatland, Iowa, then to Reinbeck, where they farmed and from there came to Plymouth county in 1883, settling on a farm south of Remsen. They purchased the present family home in Remsen in 1903, when they retired from farm life and moved to town. Mr. Jaacks died in March 1915. To their union seven children were born. Four of them died in infancy, the fifth, Mrs. Christina Larson, died twelve years ago, and the remaining two are, Adolph and Herman Jaacks, both of Remsen. She is also survived by a sister living at Gladbrook, Iowa, and a brother, living a t Massillon, Iowa.
