Last Rites Held At Remsen For Mrs. Henry Sanny.
Death last Thursday in St. Paul, Minn., claimed Mrs. Elsie Frondt Sanny, well known Remsen woman, who had lived here for nearly half a century and who had been with her daughter, Mrs. Ott Petersen, in the Minnesota metropolis. She was 69 years old.
Born October 28, 1872, at Famen, Germany, she came with her parents to this country at the age of 13 years, the family settling in Benton county, Iowa. In 1891 she was united in marriage to Henry Sanny, well known farmer, the marriage taking place in Trinity Lutheran church, Cherokee county. The couple farmed for one year south of Remsen, then moved to Meadow township north of Remsen where they resided for 24 years. They retired from active farm life in 1925 and spent their winters in California until the death of Mr. Sanny nine years ago.
Mrs. Sanny, lifelong member of the Lutheran faith, was a woman of admirable qualities and strict Christian principle; one whose splendid personality won her a friend in every acquaintance and who therefor enjoyed the confidence and highest esteem of a large host of friends.
Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Clara Bjork and Mrs. Frank Engelbrecht, Remsen, Mrs. Otto Petersen, St. Paul; Mrs. Ted Amundson, Remsen; Henry Sanny, Ellsworth, Minn.; John Sanny, Remsen; and Albert Sanny, Cleghorn, Iowa. There is one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Meyer of Redlands, Calif., and a brother Hans Frondt of Spirit Lake, Iowa. There are 16 grandchildren.
The funeral was held Sunday at St. Paul’s Evangelical church in Remsen, Rev. Paul Wuebben officiating.
