Henry Oltmanns

Henry Oltmanns, 69, Ireton, lifelong Grant township resident; died Wednesday at St. Vincent hospital, Sioux City. He had been a patient at the hospital for a month after failing health for several years.

He was born May 18, 1901, in Grant township, the son of Carl and Tena Pageler Oltmanns. His marriage to Anna Ommen took place Feb. 26, 1925, in Grant township. He was a retired farmer.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John American Lutheran church, Craig. Rev. 0. K. Anderson will officiate and burial will be in Craig Lutheran cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Christmas day.

Survivors are his wife, Anna, rural Ireton; a son, Larry, Craig; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Marlene) Hanstein, rural Le Mars, and Mrs. Jerry (Karen) Schoenrock, Hinton; five grandchildren and three brothers, Otto and Fred, Le Mars and Herman, Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Elmer and Charles; a sister Anne and a daughter in infancy.

Mr. Oltmanns was a member of St John church, Craig.

HENRY J. OLTMANNS

Funeral services were held December 26, at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Craig for Henry J. Oltmanns, 69, retired farmer of rural Ireton, who died at a Sioux City hospital December 23, 1970, after a long illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. O.K. Anderson and burial was made in the Craig Lutheran Cemetery.

Mr. Oltmanns was born in Grant Township of Plymouth County May 18, 1901.

He was married to Anna Ommen February 26, 1925, at Le Mars.

Survivors include the widow; a son, Larry of Craig; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald Hanstein of rural Le Mars and Mrs. Jerry Schoenrock of rural Hinton; three brothers, Otto and Fred, both of rural Le Mars, and Herman of Sioux City; and five grandchildren.
