ATWOOD RITES TO BE DECEMBER 18
Well-Known LeMars Resident Died at the Age of 84

Henry Atwood, retired farmer, passed away Sunday, December 15th, at his home at 601 Plymouth Street, NW, at the age of 84 years, and 16 days.

Henry Atwood was born November 29th, 1862, in Rockton, Illinois, later moving to Plymouth County where he farmed for 19 years on a farm 2 miles west of LeMars. For the last 33 years he has made his home in LeMars. On January 8th, 1885, he was married to Bertha A. Jacobs at Rockton, Illinois.

Surviving are a son, Elmer H. Atwood, a daughter, Mrs. Leslie E. Smith, of De Witt, Iowa, a brother, Patten Atwood, and three grandchildren, Earl Bogen, Robert and Glenn Atwood, of LeMars. He was preceded in death by his wife, and a daughter, Effie Atwood Bogen.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon, December 18, at 2 o’clock in Mauer’s Funeral Home. Burial will be in the LeMars City Cemetery.
