BERTHA TSCHAMPEL

Bertha M. Tschampel, 94, longtime Merrill area resident, died Monday (Jan. 25, 1988) at Brentwood Care Center, where she had lived the last 27 years.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars with Rev. Bob Davis officiating. Burial will be in LeMars Memorial Cemetery.

The former Bertha Terborg, she was born July 25, 1893, at Rushford, Minn., to William and Delia Terborg. She married Frank Tschampel Jan. 12, 1913, at DeSmet, S.D., and lived in the Merrill area until 1961, when she moved to Brentwood.

She was a member of the Merrill United Methodist church and was active in the United Methodist Women at the church and the Merrill Tuesday Club.

She is survived by a son, Harold Tschampel, of Merrill; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Frank in 1946; an infant daughter; a sister and two brothers.

THE FAMILY of Bertha M. Tschampel wish to express our sincere appreciation for all the love, kindness and concern shown Bertha during her lengthy residence at Brentwood Good Samaritan Home.
