Life’s End. MRS. A. ERICHSEN OF REMSEN EXPIRES WEDNESDAY NIGHT. Funeral Rites Set Satuarday.
Mrs. August Erichsen, 74, lifelong resident of the Remsen community, died unexpectedly Wednesday night at her home in Remsen. She had been in ailing health three years.
Mr. and Mrs. Erichsen would have observed their 51st wedding anniversary Friday.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran church, Remsen. Rev. Alfred Christiansen will officiate. Burial will be in the Remsen cemetery under direction of Moeller’s funeral home, Remsen.
Ida Nitzschke was born Aug. 27, 1887, on a farm southeast of Remsen. Her marriage to August Erichsen took place Feb. 23, 1911, at Trinity Lutheran church south of Marcus. The couple farmed south of Remsen until 1947, when they moved to Remsen.
Surviving are her husband, August; three sons, Walter, Arnold and George, and a daughter, Mrs. William (Hilda) Henrich, all of Remsen; six grandchildren; seven brothers and a sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Meta Nitzschke; a two-year son, Edward, and a sister. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, Feb. 22, 1962, page 1.
