Miss Recknagel Life Long Remsen Resident Passes.
Funeral services were held Thursday for Miss Bernadine Recknagel, 55, life long resident of Remsen, at St. Paul’s church in Remsen, Rev. Paul Wuebben officiating. Interment was made in the Remsen cemetery. Serving as pall bearers were Geo. T. C. Hanse, Edwin Holtgrewe, Fred G. Eichhorn, N. J. NIggeling, Paul Schmidt and C.E. Schumacher.
Miss Recknagel has been in poor health for a long time and a few days prior to her death was brought to the Zimmerman Home to be nearer medical attention.
Miss Bernadine Recknagel was born in Remsen, April 13, 1887, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Recknagel, early settlers in Remsen vicinity. She is survived by four brothers. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Tuesday, January 26, 1943, page 1.
