Marius Bogh, 80, Remsen, died unexpectedly Monday at Floyd Valley hospital after a short illness. He was taken the hospital Monday but had been in failing health for six months.
Mr. Bogh, the son of Marius P. and Sena Juhl Bogh, was born May 23, 1888 in Fredonia township. He was married Nov. 26, 1913 to Anna Marie Schmidt on a farm north of Remsen. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1963. Mrs. Bogh died Jan. 12, 1968
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran church, Remsen, with Rev. Paul Wuebben officiating. Burial will be in the Remsen city cemetery under direction of the Moeller funeral home, Remsen. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Survivors are a son, Elmer, Remsen and daughter, Mrs. Leo (Dorothy) Cassidy, Remsen; a brother, Andrew Bogh, Le Mars; two sisters, Mrs. Garrett Porte, Artesia, Calif. And Mrs. Ed Dornbusch, Sioux Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife; by two brothers, Chris and Peter and two sisters, Mary and Sirena. – Le Mars Globe-Post, August 29, 1968, page 6.
