Otto Henry Nitzschke, 74, Remsen, died Saturday, May 9, at his home after suffering a heart attack.
Funeral services were Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran church, Remsen, with Rev. Paul Wuebben officiating. Burial was in the Remsen City cemetery under the direction of the Moeller funeral home.
He was born June 7, 1895, south of Remsen. He was a retired trucker and substitute mail carrier for many years. He married Eda Scott October 28, 1919, at Sioux City.
He was a charter member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign wars and a world war I veteran.
Survivors are his wife, four sons, Warren of Waterloo, Richard of Remsen, Andrew of Lawton and Lynn of Akron; four brothers; a sister; and 17 grandchildren. – Akron Register Tribune, May 14, 1970, page 2.
