Their marriage was performed in Christ Lutheran church on March 24, 1886, and soon after their marriage the couple settled on a farm south of town, which they purchased and which they occupied for 25 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Erichsen retired 23 years ago and moved into Remsen, building a splendid home and living here ever since. They occupied their own home ever since coming to town and have enjoyed the fruits of their labors ever since.
Mrs. Erichsen was one of the best Christian women of this community and one of the most highly respected. She was a life-long member of the Lutheran congregation here and one of the staunch members of the Ladies’ Aid society. She was a loving wife and mother and a woman who won the respect and love of all her acquaintances through her admirable traits of character and her many admirable ways.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock with a large attendance as a memento of the high esteem in which the deceased was held in this community. The pall bearers were Peter Rann, Wm Siefke, Henry Falke, W.G. Sievers, E.H. Spiecker and Elmer Ohlendorf.
