Mrs. Tina Miller,80, Le Mars area native and lifelong resident, died Wednesday (Aug 16, 1978) at Happy Siesta retirement home at Remsen. She has been a resident there for ten years and died after a lengthy illness.
Tina Kloster was born July 9, 1898 in Fredonia township to Chris and Kristina [Christine] Nielsen Kloster. She was married to Carl Miller on Jan. 28, 1919 in Fredonia township Lutheran church and the couple farmed there. He died March 11, 1925 and Mrs. Miller continued to live in the Remsen area.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran church in Remsen with Rev. Julian Swanson officiating. Burial will be in the Remsen city cemetery under direction of the Moeller funeral home at Remsen.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday. The prayer service will be held on Friday at 8 p.m.
Survivors are two sons, Floyd of Carter lake and Wilbur of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. Rudy (Doris) Drost of Orange City; two brothers, Jack and Harold, both of Remsen; a sister, Mrs. John (Herlig) Nielsen of Le Mars; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, August 17, 1978, page 8.
