Mrs. Jens Kloster, 89, formerly of Oyens, died Saturday morning (Sept. 24, 1977) at Floyd Valley hospital in Le Mars after a long illness. She had been a resident of Plymouth Manor nursing home at Le Mars the last year.

Her husband was the longtime Oyens town clerk until his retirement.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran church at Remsen. Rev. Julian Swanson officiated. Burial was in Remsen City cemetery.

There was a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Moeller funeral home at Remsen.

Mrs. Kloster, the former Marie Nielsen, was born June 16, 1888, at Janderup, Denmark. She came to the United States at age 18, and she was married to Mr. Kloster March 4, 1914, in Fredonia township, Plymouth county.

The couple farmed in Fredonia and Elgin townships until they moved into Oyens in 1929. They moved to Plymouth Manor at Le Mars about a year ago.

Survivors are her husband; two sons, Norman of Nashua and Delnar of Longmont, Colo.; two daughters, Edna Kloster of Le Mars and Mrs. Herman (Frances) Oetken of Le Mars; a sister, Mrs. Christina Larson of Morristown, N.J.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
