Gerd H. Pageler. 75, Craig, died Tuesday at Floyd Valley hospital after a lengthy illness. He had been at the hospital since last February. Funeral services will be held Thursday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran church, Craig, with Rev. Orval Friedrich officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran cemetery, rural Merrill, under direction of Mauer Funeral Horne. A prayer service will he held tonight (Wednesday) at 8 p. m. at the funeral home.
He was born March 21, 1894, in Washington township near Brunsville, and married Emelie Schutte, June 1930 at Craig. She died in July 1942. He was the son of the late John F. and Johanna (Johnson) Pageler. He farmed near Merrill until his retirement. He was a member of St. John Lutheran church, Craig, and a veteran of World War I.
He was preceded in death by his parents one wife, one son, two daughters, two brothers and one sister.
Survivors arc four grandchildren, Cheryl, Mark, James and Thomas Hagar of Le Mars; three sisters, Mrs. Henry (Mary) Eilers of Hawarden, Mrs. Henry (Emma) Tammen of Craig and Mrs, George (Lilly) Tammen ofLe Mars; three brothers, Henry of Merrill, Carl of Craig and Herman of Sioux City.
