Anne C. Clark, 88, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Society in Le Mars.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa. Reverend Matt Hewitt of St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in Pukwana, South Dakota. Visitation with the family present will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Anne C. Zastrow was born October 30, 1922 in Hamill, South Dakota, one of twelve children born to August and Anna Marie (Simmons) Zastrow. She was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith. She was raised and attended school in Hamill.
She was united in marriage to Neil Clark on September 18, 1947 in Chamberlain, South Dakota. Anne was a homemaker for her family. Neil’s job took them to several cities in the United States. While living in North Platte, Nebraska, Neil passed away unexpectedly on August 21, 1971. Anne continued to live in North Platte and starting working as a waitress for several restaurants in the area. Later on, she wanted to move closer to her family. In 1994, she settled in Le Mars.
She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars. She enjoyed playing cards, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and cooking. One of her greatest pastimes was the family dinners that she would host. She always loved the times spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her 4 children: Janis Steffensen (Steve) of Columbus, OH, Candy Bishop (Steve) of Lexington, NE, Tim Clark (Nancy) of Columbus, OH, and Lauretta Shaver (Dennis) of Sioux City, IA; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; her twin brothers: Joe Zastrow (Vera) of Wessington Springs, SD and Matt Zastrow (Fern) of Sioux Falls, SD; her sister: Betty Kesselring of Dakota City, NE; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Neil; her infant son: Michael Clark; 4 brothers: George, Frank, Donald, and Lawrence; and 4 sisters: Marie Grimshaw, Dorothy Grimshaw, Katherine Vober, and Lauretta McElhenie.
