ELMER BIXBY DIES IN OMAHA FRIDAY
Formerly Lived In Stanton Township

Elmer E. Bixby, who for many years farmed in Stanton township, died at a hospital in Omaha, Friday, July 13, following a stroke which he suffered a week ago.

Mr. Bixby was born at Rockford, Illinois, June 9, 1861, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Bixby. The family moved to Iowa when he was a small child. He made his home on a farm in Stanton township until retiring about ten years when he moved to Omaha.

He was married in 1905 to Maude Roberts, who preceded him in death a number of years ago. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. William Evers and Mrs. Eva Peckenpaugh of Omaha and Mrs. Merle Mihacs of Oakland, California; one brother, Charles, of Tyndall, South Dakota; and one sister, Mrs. J. H. Bruns, of Watertown, S.D.; and five grandchildren.

The body was brought to LeMars for burial and the services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at Mauer’s Funeral Home, Rev. J. J. Share, officiating. Burial was in the LeMars cemetery.
