PASSING OF PIONEERS
K.0. W00D DIES IN NEBRASKA
Was a War Veteran and Pioneer Resident of Elgin Township

Friends in LeMars received word on Monday of the death of K. O. [Kenyon Orlando] Wood, a former pioneer resident of LeMars, which occurred at his home in Nebraska on Friday from senility. He was 76 years of age and was native of Woodville, New York state. Mr. Wood spent his boyhood in Illinois near Aurora and about thirty years ago came to Iowa and located in Elgin township, this county. Twenty years ago he moved to Hawarden and after ten years residence there went to Springfield, South Dakota. Five years ago he retired from active work and took up his residence at Nevoir, Neb. He was married but leaves no children. His wife accompanied the remains to LeMars, arriving here last night and the funeral will be held this morning at ten o'clock at the Beely undertaking parlors, Rev. E. E. Gilbert officiating.

The deceased was an uncle of Fred Wood, who resides just north of town.
