MRS. ARTHUR PHILIPS

Mrs. Arthur Philips, 71, route 2, Merrill, died Tuesday (May 29, 1973) at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center after a long illness.

She had resided at the home since March 14.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Hinton United Methodist church with Rev. Walden Paige officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery, Sioux City, under the direction of the Mauer Funeral Home.

A prayer service will be held Thursday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Frances Frieda Friske was born Sept. 10, 1901, near Akron, the daughter of the late William and Elvina (Jans) Friske.

She and Arthur E. Philips were married Jan. 21, 1920, at Akron.

Mrs. Philips, a lifelong resident of Plymouth County, was a member of the Hinton United Methodist church, United Methodist Women, and the Merrill Legion auxiliary.

Survivors are her husband, Arthur, of rural Merrill; a son, Lowell E., of Merrill; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Delores) Kovarna of Merrill; a brother, Edward Friske of Lake Crystal, Minn.; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Huls of Lake Crystal, Minn., and two grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
