Miss Mamie Boden passed away Saturday morning, January 18, 1919,at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andy Boden, west of Akron, in
Union county, S.D., after a brief illness of pneumonia, following influenza, at the age of 18 years, 7 months and 18 days. Mary Elizabeth Boden was born in Plymouth county, Ia. May 6, 1900, and had lived in this locality all her life. She was the only daughter in a family of five children . Her sudden summons came as a grievious shock to the family and the community in which she lived. A loving and dutiful daughter and a kind sister, she was the pride of the household, and her sad and untimely departure leaves vacant a place that can never be filled in that home. As a senior in the local parochial high school, her sweet dignity and child-like innocence won her the love of both Sisters and schoolmates.Besides her bereaved parents , Mr. and Mrs. Andy Boden, she is survived by four brothers, Will, John, Edward and Francis Boden.
