Death of Mrs. George Rees

The news of the death of Mrs. Geo. Rees, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Beely, which occurred on Tuesday will cause a feeling or deep sorrow throughout the county where she was so well known for it is well known that the loving, tender care that she bestowed upon her husband during the long years of his sickness with tuberculosis, has caused her death, she having succumbed to the same malady. When her husband died a year ago in April it was thought that the constant care which had been bestowed upon him had caused her illness and that she would recover after a period of rest but as the weeks passed and there was no return of health it was feared that she could recover. Her decline was gradual until about a month ago when she grew rapidly worse and it was inevitable that she would soon pass to her reward.

Ursula Rees was born January 1, 1871, in Johnson township, Plymouth county, Iowa. At the age of six years she moved to Le Mars with her parent and spent all of her life there except a few years. In 1892 she was married to George Reese with whom she lived in happy wedlock until he was taken away by death about a year ago. Since that time she has not been well and a few months ago her malady, tuberculosis, became serious, causing death on June 21, at 8 o'clock a m., at the age of 30years, 5 months and twenty days.

As a child she was most obedient and dutiful, as a wife and mother most faithful, patient and loving, as a Christian true and earnest, as a sufferer resigned to the will of God.

She was loth to leave her little ones but when her father assured her that they should not be separated as long as he could raise an arm, she said: "Now I can die in peace."

She leaves her grandparents, her parents, two sisters, Martha Beely and Mrs. C. Garton, three children and a very large circle of relatives and friends. The funeral will be conducted in the English language in the German M. E. church at 2:30 on Thursday afternoon, Rev. Rhinefrank and Rev. Randall officiating.
