Doris J. Hollinger, 70, of Sioux City, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at a local hospital following a brief illness.

Doris was born Feb. 25, 1940, in Le Mars, the daughter of Elmer Joachim and Melva Alma (Dixon) Grage.

She married Joseph Francis Hollinger Jr. July 15, 1967. They later divorced and he died Aug. 9, 2006.

Doris loved to crochet, bake, and play bingo; but her greatest love was spending time with her grandkids. She also was an avid Cubs fan.

Survivors include her children: Joe and his significant other, Paula of Sioux City, Tammy Hollinger of Sioux City, and Darwyn and his fiancée, Sarah of Sioux City; 10 grandkids: Jerod, Brady, Kaci, Kelsi, Kaleb, Madison, Theresa, Ethan, Erick, and Morgen; and several nieces and nephews, great-nephews and great-nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gerald Grage.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel in Sioux City with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will be in the Remsen Cemetery in Remsen. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 6-8 P.M. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the funeral home.
