Raymond N. Barthole, 93, of Deer Park, Wash., died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010.

Raymond was born Feb. 20, 1917, in Remsen, the son of James and Marianna Barthole.

Raymond served in the U.S. Navy and was also a postal carrier and retired as a federal meat inspector.

On April 24, 1942, he married Ruth Bradley in New York, N.Y.

He loved hunting and fishing and was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus, both in Le Mars, and the VFW and Eagles in Deer Park, Wash. Raymond is survived by his daughters, Diane Kidder of Gresham, Ore., and Katherine Holiday of Spokane Valley, Wash., as well eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, and two sons, James and Michael.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at St. Mary's Presentation Church, 310 N. Main St., Deer Park, Wash.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Deer Park Eagles Lodge, 12 W. South Ave., Deer Park, Wash., 99006. at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 19.

The Heritage Funeral Home in Spokane is in charge of arrangements.
