Mrs. Donald (Mabel) Held. 37, route l, Hinton. was dead on arrival at Sioux City St. Joseph Hospital Tuesday (Sept. 5,1972). She had been in ill health for several months.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Hinton United Methodist church with Rev. Walden Paige officiating. Burial will be in Floyd-Valley-Melbourne Cemetery east of Hinton under direction of the Nelson-Berger Northside Funeral Home, Sioux City. A prayer service will be held Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mabel S. Stanley was born Feb. 28, 1935, at Sloan and was graduated from Sloan High School in 1953. She attended Morningside College for two years and taught kindergarten at Hinton for four years. On June 2, 1957, she was married to Mr. Held at Sioux City. She was a member of Hinton United Methodist church and of Debra Circle. She also taught Sunday school there.

Survivors are her husband, three sons, Robert, Bradley and John and two daughters. Donna and Diane, all at home. Her mother Mrs. Robert G. Stanley and four sisters, Mrs. Gladys Modglin, Stella Stanley, Edith Stanley and Mrs. Betty Newton, all of Sioux City, also survive.
