Gertrude Juhl
Gertrude Juhl, 89, of Le Mars, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 1995, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.
Mrs. Juhl, the former Gertrude Wilemina Rosetta Theilen, was born Jan. 22, 1906, in Le Mars, the daughter of Henry and Meta (Collman) Theilen. She attended school in Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars High School. She married Andrew Juhl.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed embroidery and bird watching. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, ELCA, and was a member of the Altar Guild, and the WELCA of the church.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Janet Martin of Kingston Springs, Term., and Brenda Juhl-Rose and her husband, Harold of Adrian, Minn.; two sisters, Emma Scholer of Le Mars and Marjorie King of Cherokee; three grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lou Theilen and Ben Theilen, and a son-in-law, Glenn Martin.
Private funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars, with the Rev. Gary Landsness officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery.
