Mrs. Mary Pritchett died at the home of her son, John Pritchett at this place on Tuesday morning at 2 a.m., of heart disease. She died very suddenly and unexpectedly, being sick only a half hour. She seemed real bright and cheerful during the day and retired at night feeling as well as usual.

She was born in Kentucky, in July 1821 and was therefore 77 years 8 months of age. She, with her husband, moved to Iowa fourteen years ago and lived on a farm in O'Brien County. They came here last December and have been living with their son John and their daughter Mrs. Geo. Watts. Mrs. Pritchett was the mother of nine children, six of whom survive her. Three of these live in Wisconsin and could not be present at the funeral. Mrs. Maggie Bidwell, of O’Brien County, Mrs. Geo. Watts and Jon Pritchett, were present at the funeral, also a grandson, Delbert Bidwell, of O’Brien County. She leaves also an aged husband, 82 years old, who is patiently waiting for the summons to call him home where he may meet her again on the other shore.

As a mother she was gentle, kind and forbearing, and as a wife all that was true and noble. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Mr. Astleford, Thursday noon and the remains laid to rest in the Adaville Cemetery.

The pall bearers were J. Van Dusen, H. Williamson, Chas. Nease, Wm. Krudwig, Mr. Bonus and J. Hurt.

Her day is ended her work is finished, the sun has set and she is at rest.
