Harold C. Toenjes, 77, of Ireton died Sunday, Oct. 28, 1984, at his residence at Ireton after a long illness. Services were at 10:30 a. m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ireton. The Rev. Paul Sieveking officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under direction of Dow Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Eugene VanderHamm, Kenneth Reinking, Cornelius Coulander, Willis Wells, Marvin Schmidt and Alfred Bohms.

Mr. Toenjes was born June 4, 1907, in rural Ireton. He married Lavon Wills on Aug. 28, 1936, in rural Ireton. They farmed southeast of Ireton until Sept. 29, 1979, when they retired and moved into town. Mr. Toenjes was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Royce of St. Cloud, MN; one daughter, Mrs. Curtis (Donna) VanNess of Wilmont, MN; one brother, Wendell of Struble; one sister, Mrs. Paul (Elvira) Kading of Ireton and six grandchildren.
