William “Bud” R. Hanville, 38, of Le Mars passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 7, 2009 at his home in Le Mars.

A Celebration of Life will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2009 at Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa. Reverend Jason Larson of the United Methodist Church of Le Mars will officiate. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 p.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

William was born November 3, 1970 in Phoenix, AZ, the son of William, Sr. and Diane (Schalow) Hanville. He attended school in Arizona and graduated from Paradise Valley High School in Phoenix. At the age of 21, he moved to Mallard, Iowa where he worked for several manufacturing business including Goldstar Manufacturing in Laurens, Iowa. In 1995, he moved to Storm Lake, Iowa.

He was united in marriage to Stephanie Smith in October of 1996. To this union, two children were born, Colton and Kylie. William continued to work at Goldstar Manufacturing. In September of 2000, they moved to Le Mars, Iowa. William worked for Smith Co Manufacturing and Hy-Vee in Le Mars. Later, he went back to school and received his C.N.A. degree and worked at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. For close to 5 years, he worked at Prince Hydraulics in Sioux City. After being laid off in January of this year, William decided to return to college and get his L.P.N. degree. He had been attending school at Western Iowa Tech Community College.

William enjoyed fishing, camping, and garage sales. But most of all he, he loved his children, and cherished every moment he had with them, whether it was at the fair, camping, fishing, or hanging out at home. He will be remembered for his caring and helping nature. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include Colton and Kylie, and his “little daughter” Alyssa and their mother, Stephanie Drost all of Le Mars, Iowa; his parents, William, Sr. and Diane Hanville of Phoenix, AZ; his sister: Kim Hilliker and her husband Howard of Redmond, WA; a special friend: Mary Heidenreich of Sioux City, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
