James Hague, 64, of Le Mars, Iowa, formerly of St. Peter, MN, died suddenly Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, Iowa.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Jesus Assembly of God Church in St. Peter, MN. Reverend Bruce Pope will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Mankato, MN. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. The Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.

James Luke Hague was born March 29, 1943 in Spring Valley, MN, the youngest of 10 children to Robert and Berthal (Cheney) Hague. He attended school at Spring Valley High School. Following high school, he entered the United States Army in 1964 and served his country during the Vietnam conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1970. Following his time in the service, he attended technical schooling for electronics.

He was united in marriage to Diane M. Lay on October 20, 1973 in St. Peter, MN. Shortly after, they moved to Bloomington, MN where James worked for Honeywell for several years. While living in Bloomington, their son Michael was born in 1974. Later, they lived in Eden Prairie, MN. While living there, their daughter Michelle was born in 1977. Later, they moved to LeSueur, MN where he did electronic work for ADC Telecommunications and at the Foundry. For a short time later, they lived in Washington before returning to LeSueur. Diane passed away September 14, 2004 in LeSueur. In July of 2006, James moved to Le Mars. He was working for Goodwill Industries.

James was a devoted Christian and enjoyed studying the Bible. Church was always an instrumental part of his life. He was a member of Le Mars Assembly of God. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved babysitting and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his children: Michael Hague of Seattle, WA, and Michelle Baker and her husband Mike of Le Mars, IA; 3 grandchildren: Staranne, Jerry, and Cypher Malz of Le Mars, IA; his brothers and sisters: Ethel Sinell of LeSueur, MN, Donna Hague of LeSueur, MN, Vern Hague of Wyoming, Glen Hague and his wife Karen of Kentucky, Larry Hague and his wife Barb of LeCenter, MN, Lynn Hague and his wife Marilyn of LeSueur, Berthal “Jeannie” Messer and her husband Marvin of North Dakota, and Tony Hague of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister: June; and a brother-in-law: Otto Sinell.
