Avis Hilton, 90, of Tigard, Oregon, formerly of Akron, Iowa, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2008 at her residence in Tigard.
Graveside services will be at noon on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Union County, South Dakota. There will be no visitation. The Carlsen Funeral Home – Schroeder Chapel in Akron, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
Avis Louise Heasley was born Dec. 12, 1917, in Spink, S.D. She moved to Portland in 1936, and was a homemaker. She moved to Tigard in 2003. In 1936, she married Elwin Hilton; he died in 1990.
Survivors include her daughters, Wendy Hosford and Nancy Steele; son, Levi; sister, Wilma Morgan; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
