Note: Susan Hoffmann is the daughter of Charles Hoffmann. Sometimes an error was made in the newspaper spelled it Hoffman. The actual spelling is Hoffmann. Charles Hoffmann married Elizabeth Dondelinger.

SUSAN HOFFMAN DIES OF BREAK
Succumbs After Injury To Bones Of Leg

Miss Susan Hoffman, long time resident of Le Mars, passed away Saturday, September 7, at the Sacred Heart hospital. Miss Hoffman was taken to the hospital two weeks ago suffering a broken leg which she received when she caught her foot In the door between the kitchen and the pantry in the Dana Hoffman home August 27, fell and broke her leg above the ankle. Her condition at first, was very satisfactory, but due to her age she began to fail and continued to do so until her death.

Miss Susan Hoffman was born January 28. 1856, at St. Donatus, lowa. At the age of 14 she came to this city with her parents, and has lived here since. She was 79 years, 7 months and 9 days of age at the time of her death. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Hoffman. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Louise Homan of Alton. Sister Gabriel of Chicago, four brothers. D. N. Hoffman, John A. Hoffman, both of Le Mars; Charles J. of Little Rock. Ark., and Arthur N. of California. Miss Hoffman was a member of the Catholic church and the Catholic ladies' club.

Funeral services were held this morning in the St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Magr. J. D. Fisch officiating. Burial was made in the St. Joseph cemetery, with Wiltgen's in charge of the funeral arrangements.

She was preceded in death by two sisters. Mrs. Margaret Kass and Mrs. Mary Gehlen.

In her many years of residence of this city. Miss Hoffman enjoyed the acquaintances of many friends and neighbors, who extend their sympathy to the bereaved family.
