DEATH OF MRS. KARL TOBEN

Mrs. Karl Toben.; died at .her home southeast of town: Saturday morning, November 20, 1926. She had suffered somewhat with heart trouble for years, but the end came peacefully with but twenty-five minutes suffering. On Friday she was in town and she had planned her work for Saturday, but passed away at 4:45 o'clock Saturday morning, the cause of her death being acute dilation of the-heart. She was thus 60 years and 4 months old.

Clara Meta Catherina Janssen was born in Java, Oldenburg, Germany, July 21, 1866. As a child she was confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Germany. She came to America in November,1884, and on October 24, 1888, she was married to Adolf Thiel in New. Brunswick, New Jersey. To this union seven children were born. Amanda died while a child of seven months and one daughter, Mrs. Louise Dirks, died in 1914. She Is survived by two son's and three daughters by this marriage, namely, Adolf, Fred and Johanna, of Westfield Township; Mrs. George Warnsing, of Holbrook, Nebr., and Mrs. Lester Dewey, of Hurley, S. D. The family came to western Plymouth county, Iowa, in the year 1893. Her husband died February 21, 1897.

On July 15,1898, she was married to Karl Toben. In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children through this marriage, all of whom live in this locality Martin, Carl, John, Katie and Clara. She is also mourned by one sister,
Mrs. Heibe Neunaber, of Le Mars; also five cousins and 16 grandchildren.

Mrs. Toben's father died when she was three years old and her mother died when she was six years, old. She was a kind and devoted wife and mother and a helpful neighbor and friend; The community extends its sympathy to the sorrowing relatives.

Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon and at;, the English Lutheran Church in Akron, Rev. O. F, Bohman conducting the services. Mrs. Frank Jacobs and Mrs. Gust. Granquist rendered vocal selections at the church. Her five, sons and a nephew, Frank Neunaber, acted as pallbearers. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
