Martin M. Toben, 83, Akron, died Saturday (Jan. 15, 1983) in the Akron hospital of a brief illness.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Trinity Lutheran church in Akron. The Rev. Marvin Mueller officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery under direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Toben was born Feb. 12, 1889, at Akron. He married Anna Berg, Sept. 16,1929 at Le Mars. They farmed in the Brunsville and Westfield areas until moving to Akron in 1953. He was a carpenter for 20 years, retiring in 1973.

Survivors include his wife; one brother, John of Akron and one halfsister, Mrs. Amelia Dewey of Akron.
